| All of my decks are bracket 3 unless otherwise noted. If you visit my Moxfield links, you'll find the decks with the exact card versions I have in them. Leave me a comment on there if you have any ideas for stuff I should be running! |
TERRA, RETURNER
This deck, currently my favorite of all my decks, aims to fill the yard with a toolbox of power 3 or less creatures to reanimate with Terra, dealing with any problems your opponents throw at you as they come along. It can be a little bit clunky, and I somehow always manage to mill everything but creatures even though the deck has 41 of them, but it is still a blast to play and offers a fun little "how are we gonna solve this" style puzzle in every game. Some of my favorite cards in the deck include CRYSTAL BARRICADE for blanking my opponent's graveyard hate, DALEK DRONE for some targeted removal and damage, and AURELIA, THE WARLEADER for more combats (because more combats = more Terra triggers!). I'm currently on the hunt for THIS VERSION of Aurelia in foil or halo foil! |
ROON OF THE VALUE REALM
I've had Roon built in one form or another since he was first printed in the Evasive Maneuvers precon deck. The deck, originally helmed by DEREVI, EMPYRIAL TACTICIAN, really spoke to me but I was obsessed with Roon specificially and quickly swithed him and Derevi as commanders. All these years later he's still blinking some of my other favorites like MULLDRIFTER, DUPLICANT and COILING ORACLE, accruing value and answering threats while working towards being the most obnoxious deck at the table with things like ASTRAL DRAGON making copies of INTRUDER ALARM and causing some seriously heinous stacks. It can also do more typical Roon stuff like taking everyone's permanents with AGENT OF TREACHERY or just swinging out with a bunch of pumped up creatures off the back of an END-RAZE FORERUNNERS (yeah, Craterhoof would be better but I like the boars!). |
TERRA, HALF-ESPER
This started as a true binder soup deck using all of the summons and sagas I could find in my collection after taking apart my cEDH Terra deck. I already had the most beautiful version of this Terra card and had to build something! After some trades with a local friend of mine this pile came together and it is actually a ton of fun. It almost feels like playing a slightly souped up precon because all of the summons do so much stuff and it isn't super synergized, but it all comes together to be fairly strong. I really just love slamming SUMMON: KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND and using tricksy counter-movers like O'AKA, TRAVELING MERCHANT and POWER CONDUIT to keep the knights coming! Almost feels like spamming the summon every turn in FFVII! |
THE BIG DUMB COPY SPELLS DECK (OTTER EDITION)
The way this one came about is kind of funny, as I had two different people who wanted me to build otter decks for them, and in the process of trying to make something more otter-centric, I became obsessed with the idea of copying the spell PRISONER'S DILEMMA as many times as I could to put my opponents into a hilarious little mini-game of distrust. Thus, this deck was born with that goal in mind! However, it turns out that by the time I can get a nice pile of copies going, like 3 or more, life totals are often low enough that the Dilemma will just kill all my opponents. This isn't ideal but it does just make me want to make the deck faster! In the meantime, we'll copy big dumb spells like EXPROPRIATE and TELEMIN PERFORMANCE. |
